HOW DO YOU MANAGE CHALLENGES?
We all have stressful and challenging times. How we react and manage these challenges is very different from person to person. It is important to understand how we like to manage these challenging situations so we can bounce back from them when we face them.
Think about how you overcome stressful situations?
Write down how you manage challenging situations.
Step 1: Get a piece of paper and pencil.
Step 2: Write down three words that describe how you feel when you are happy.
Step 3: Write down three things you do when you are happy, this may be smiling or playing an instrument or sport.
Step 4: Write down three words that show how you feel when you are faced with a tough challenge.
Step 5: Write down three things you do when you are faced with a tough challenge, this may be cry, work harder, play a sport or listen to music.
Step 6: Look at what you have written and ask yourself: how do you manage tough situations? Is there anything you want to try differently to overcome a stressful situation?
Think about what you can do differently to have a positive mindset next time you are faced with a challenge. You may need to step away from the challenge and do something that makes you feel good before coming back to it again. Put this piece of paper away to remind you of how you can manage yourself during a stressful situation.
